Hi Joetro, I blame the parents. (may as well) My ex-father-in-law, when he went to a restaurant, before ordering, he'd go right to the bathroom, and if it was dirty, he'd walk right out. (presumably where the cook went)
You know, Apathy is this countries biggest problem,,,,but who cares.:biggrin_25523:

I was using the washroom in a McDonald's before ordering and there was an employee in there at a urinal. He walked out without washing and went in the employee door to the kitchen area. I went up to the counter and asked to see the manager. I told him what I had just witnessed. First he said, "maybe he washed, but (I) didn't see it." I told him that didn't happen. Then he said, "maybe he washed in the kitchen." I told him I doubted it, but even if he had that is a contravention of health laws, company policy, common decency and moderate intelligence. He just shrugged.

Exactly, and we should not stop complaining. They are making millions on us. Basic cleanliness in a shower is not drivers requesting Hilton standard, it's a service we pay for. Casinos and simple hotels can do it.

Yeah, I just don't know what to think about that. So basically, they want to double their wage. At this point in my life, I would drive a truck for $15/hr. and you mean to tell me, some burger flipper or order taker wants the same wage as me? Come on. Nobody is twisting these peoples arms to work there, and those jobs never were intended for people to raise families on or buy houses and new cars. They are for young people or old people or second income people. You know what will happen, they'll all get fired, and then what? I just don't get it.
It's not just Loves, it's a nation wide problem. If someone could revolutionize the bathroom situation in this country, they'd be billionaires. On many trips to Fla. over the years, it was a never ending situation. I can go just about anywhere, but my ex-gf couldn't. Matter of fact, I could tell by her face when she came out of a restroom, what it was like. One of my biggest pet peeves is no paper towels, and trash baskets overflowing on the floor. Down South was without question, the worst, not that up north is that much better. It's another of the many reasons I don't travel by car or truck anymore. And who can blame the attendants, if any. Some people are such pigs. Newbies, take note. You'll encounter this on a regular basis. Bet they didn't tell you THAT in school either.:smt078
You're right, many people are pigs. They piss next to my truck when i'm parked and throw their trash strait out the window. But when it comes to a service i pay for, which a shower is, i do blame the attendants... they got a job to do just like we got a job to do... if they don't wanna do it, the truckstop should hire somebody who wants it. When i came to the U.S. my first job was cleaning a church for minimum wage, it was very dirty but i would never do it halfway just because of the little pay. I was happy someone gave me work. Who would sit in a restaurant, and accept getting the dinner on a dirty plate, and only knife and fork are clean!? And the server would say, oh yea plate cleaning, we do once a week.... hahaha

Hi Gg, welcome to America. Trouble is, they probably CAN'T find anyone to do the job. It is frustrating, I'll admit, but you have to remember, trucking is WAAAAAY down on the list of honorable jobs, and cleaning up after them, is even farther down the list. It generally attracts the bottom rung of workers, that can't do anything else, with some exceptions, of course. It would be great if you could have a bathroom in your truck, and I knew a woman years ago, that did have a bathroom in her truck. It was small, but clean. Sadly, I think it will get worse before it gets better (if that's possible) and one of my biggest reasons for not doing OTR. You think that's bad, listen to this. I have a friend that's a truck mechanic, and he was told to put a U-joint in a truck of a team of drivers from a middle eastern country that shall remain nameless. When they pulled the truck into the service bay, something was immediately wrong. It seems, these people cut a hole in the floor of the sleeper, and did their business while running down the road (or wherever) and the entire underside of the truck was covered with you-know-what.
