Do I check in with the UP railroad when picking up

    I am getting into Intermodal, do I need to check in with the railroad before I hook my trailer, I have done Intermodal b4 but it has been sometime and forgot.. Any help would be appreciated

    Yes if you have not been there in some time you will have to stop at the office and register. You can probably get a map at the same time along with a sheet of yard rules.

    yep.. you will have to make sure your company is registered with uiia for each container company you are going to be puling.. with CSX.. when you bring in or pull out a container.. they will ask for DL number.. At Norfolk Southern.. you will need to get a driver ID number... you will have to make sure rail bills are done.. when dropping off at rail ramp.. you will need booking numbers to get a container..mt or loaded..
