I just used their towing service today. 5 miles towing, they gave me a flat rate, $300. After they finished the job - they told me its $600, cause they spend time to disconnect the brakes (30 min rough). I told them "you cant charge me that much, you gave me a flat rate for $300 over the phone", so I paid $300. Guess what they did - they started to tow truck with trailer to their shop with me inside the cab, damaging my tires. The owner, Lisa Hagy was very rude and kept hanging up on me. I finally paid that $300 extra, but Im going to sue those scummers. I wouldnt suggest to use them, never!
Do not use Hagy's Garage out of Meadowview VA

Do sue them! I know it's a pain, but don't let this go. File a complaint with every state and federal agency that has any supervision over their business, including the states Attorney General, department of commerce, bbb, dot - anyone and everyone. You may not get anything accomplished, but you may just get your money back and teach the pos a lesson.

I hate that!!! Gateway computers screwed me one time ,tried putting a small amount on my credit which was a lie,and every time I called I got someone on the other line from another country and I only speak and understand English so that was a problem trying to make them understand THEY owed me,not the reverse. SO I CALLED THE OWNER OF THE BANK AT HOME!!!! Problem solved.
Dell computer...same story but I happened live down the street from them,so me and the kids held up protest signs in their front door, and it took 3 minutes for them to come out and apologize and right their wrong....
Just saying...Dont let folks get away with screwing you !!!!DE36535 Thanks this. -
If you can get a wrecker to tow you anywhere for less than $500. your doing great. Our company has used Hageys for years, if we're anywhere within a hundred miles with a breakdown we call them. Mr Hagey passed away recently so maybe things have changed some but this doesn't sound unreasonabe to me. I had my truck towed less than three hundred miles last year by a good friend who runs a wrecker service, I paid eleven hundred and some dollars, I didn't expect them to do it for nothing. You know your expenses for operating a truck but a wrecker services insurance and other things are alot higher than ours, and they must make a fair profit to stay in business.

i would be upset if i was told it was a flat 300 for a tow 5 miles. and then after they had me on the hook they said it was going to be 600 after additional charges. weather 600 is a fair rate or not its the bait and switch that would tick me off. unfortunately this was probably done verbally and would be there word against yours. hopefully you documented the tire damage from them dragging your truck and you can probably get them for negligence on that part of it.
