Personally I learned from the get go to only use the clutch for starting and stopping and it has been that way ever since and I prefer it.

I never had to double clutch, it seems one of the more awkward movements man has come up with. Bad knees are my excuse for not learning, sometimes hard enough to just get into the truck , let alone dance with the pedals.
I floated pretty much from day 1. -
No double clutch, in fact the only time I have done so is when I was taking my driving test to get my CDL.
