Every truck we had when I was growing up had a name, so I have always put one on mine. I took pride in all of them.....but a couple of them I have a big attachment too.

In many ways everything I have is because of a Pete with a CAT under the hood. It’s hard not to think of one like family when it’s supporting your family. I agree just like a mule their comes a time to put one out to pasture, rebuilt is never new and is only as good as the original core.

    round my place we have
    “Slow Poke” (Dads)
    “Big Mabel” (Uncle Bills)
    “Mama Cried”
“Lost Cause”. My current ride, nothin special at all but probably have more attachment to it than any I have owned.

    Trucks we have had
    Big Iron
    Full Pull
    Lu lu
    Last Call

Spending money on cosmetics, not my game. plus i actually like the look of sandblasted aluminum.

Though the tanks and boxes will soon be shuffled
tanks for brand new (have 5 years on a fiberglass patch job, and the brackets are due)
Boxes, may get new, may just move em around
But the side fairing is going away in favor of a w9 or 379pete style battery/toolbox step style

For the stacks, nah, bigger aint any better looking though i have a new set of tops to replace next year to even the height out (passenger is 2 inches higher than drivers)

I keep mine shiny and highly maintained but only because a clean well oiled tool is a productive tool , when I sell it and retire there will be no tears .

I appreciate a good truck but I can't say I love any of them. As far as talking to them and giving them names...yeah I do that. I just can't share what I say or what I call them 'cause I'd have to ban myself for bad language.

Scratches, dings, and causalities of driving are like war scars.

If it’s a trailer Queen than it’s not working. Nothing wrong with trailer queens but they aren’t tools.

only thing I care about is the drivetrain and being safe on the road. If my Frita got a ding, scratch, or bugs on the grill than she earned her new parts.

that’s how I look at it.

Referring to your truck as the truck shows you don't really care.

    Trucks have names.

    My truck's name is Blackie.
There are many like him, but this one is mine.

If you gave The OM more cat treats, she may share more money with you and you could put a few chicken lights on Blackie.

I can't write anything as nice as you and the others have. Maybe thats because my first truck is my rebound truck. If I ever for for my truck the way I feel for my Nissan 300z. I might he able to right something like that.
But many great reads on this post.
