Wondering if anyone can help me with this. In order to make it to my appointment on time I need to get back the "Hrs gained in 2 days". If I go into sleeper birth for 20 hours, will count as 2 ten hours breaks and give me those hours?

Im still new at this and am confused to say the least but hopefully my question makes sense!

Whag hours back? If you take a 10, you get back the 11 drive/14 hrs.. if you take more hours off you still only get the 11/14. And also... do not stay on sleeper all 20 hrs. Need some off duty so you can get out of the trucklol

You probably are talking about your recap.

Your hours availible next day on your logs against your 70 hours in your last 8 days including today.

You cannot "bank" 20 hours to cheat the system. As long you have hours to work today get out of that sleeper in 8 or 10 hours whatever it is and get to work. When you are out of your 70 hours sometimes you have to sit until the recap says you have hours to work.

Any time you sit 20 hours in a sleeper, you are going to flag yourself as not moving and be very examined hard. What are you doing sitting around? Most people cannot stand to be in a sleeper 20 hours without a very good reason.

My 70 has run out. I don't get any hours back tomorrow. I get 10.5 in two days. If I go into sleeper for 20 hours, will that count as two days and give me my 10.5 hours?

No, sorry. You gain hours from recap at "midnight" ,whatever time zone your yard is. A 10 before midnight will only let you use what's left of the 70.

Do you have time for a 34 hour reset?

That's not how the HOS work. You'll either need a 34 or to wait until midnight tomorrow to get those 10.5 back.

No, a 34 will put me 5 hours behind for a LUL. Dreading calling the broker. This is my first coast to coast load.

So it's a 24 hour sit. You might as well take your 34 reset. Start off with a fresh 70 hour week.

In my time prior to the reset law, I would have sat in a hotel for 24 hours waiting for recap to get hours back. If you can, use the recap to look at your future 8 days, when you detect a pending time lost due to sitting around, you can be using this time to your advantage.

Your recap is king. That 34 hour reset could be the hammer that is used to get your full 70 back and a new work week at a cost of a day and half.
