Got loaded with hay and after scaling came back with 34500 lbs on my drives and 78400 total. Farmer swears the ag exemption allows this. I dont haul ag products so have no idea?
Going from Utah to MS
Does Agricultural exemption allow 34500 on drive axles?

Where are you? Where are you going? Some states will allow heavier on axles if you’re under gross. WY does but I can’t recall how much. Some states have an allowance if you load out of the field or bin site without access to a scale. Personally I wouldn’t worry about being 34500. That’s 70 gallons of fuel to burn off.
Opendeckin, Siinman, Rugerfan and 4 others Thank this. -
Wheres ur fifth wheel at? Me personally i would run it like it is. U can also shift ur fifth wheel forward to move weight from drives to steers

Wyoming allows 36k on the drives.Siinman, D.Tibbitt, RunningAces and 1 other person Thank this.

Going through WY (36k), Nebraska, Missouri, Tennessee, and Mississippi. The weight stations in TN and Mississippi that ill be going over look like pull outs that are rarely open. Nebraska and Missouri are my big worries.
The plan is to move my chains from my headache rack to the rear trailer box and tarps to the rear of the trailer. Thats got to be 300 lbs. Im already at about 2/3 tank but with fuel burn I hope to get under that 34k mark.
Broker and farmer were saying Ill be fine and they never have anyone come back for a rework. They didnt have anything to say when I asked them if they would pay a overweight axle overweight ticket of course.cke, Siinman, Vampire and 1 other person Thank this. -
Do you have an apu? Believe all of those states honor the exemption. Its 4-500 lbs depending on state.Vampire, D.Tibbitt and RunningAces Thank this.

I think the apu exemption is only for gross weight so wouldnt apply to axle weights.Siinman, Vampire, KDHCryo and 1 other person Thank this.

Fifth wheel is fixed. Going to run it and make sure my I's are dotted and hair combed. In case I get pulled in.
