Does anyone know anything about company called TrueNorth Transportation?

    TrueNorth Transportation is advertised as a Owner Operator Only company. Does anyone have any information about the company?

    What do you want to know about them? I was the Safety Manager there from August, 2020 to April 30, 2021 and helped build most of the policies & procedures.

    A friend of mine just leased one truck from his fleet over there to try it out, he says it's going well so far. It looks to me that you pay all of the costs plus they take their percentage.

    They nickel and dime you to death, that is for sure. And their insurance isn't cheap and their fuel discounts are (or were) terrible. They work the spot market for freight, and when I left they only had maybe 3 or 4 direct customers of their own.

    You can make money there, but aside from the dispatchers I can tell you nobody in management has any experience in trucking (they don't consider themselves a trucking company but, rather, a tech company) so you will spend a lot of time fighting with them because they don't have a clue. In short, that is a lot of the reason I decided to leave and return to driving.

    Hah! I wondered if anyone from there was on here.

    Yeah, i've kept track of their safety scores and, man, they've gone downhill since I left all with easily preventable stuff. I heard they dismantled the programs I built and did it their own way. That is probably why they've slid as far as they have. I had a pretty solid program designed that kept the scores fairly low (and new people knowledgeable as they entered the company from the Orientation I built) but, you know, the corporate types always know more. I'm better off out here anyways. Hopefully you found greener pastures, yourself.

    They just up and outsourced their entire compliance to these hacks "DriverReach" although they should change their name to Driver BREACH. They transferred their entire driver roster data, including social security numbers to what is basically a data broker making their money on VOEs.

    They talk big about "helping drivers" but they are nothing but a corporate debt grift. All you have to do is search Crunchbase and you find out they are 60 million in angel investor debt.

    Tech company my ###. Once they cobbled together their loadboard and payroll, they stopped writing and started farming everything out. They totally sold us out even on the new direct deposit, GigWage.

    Why do I need to disclose my picture ID to a payment processor? Unless they want to create a fraudulent checking account like Wells Fargo and get their share of white collar crime profits?

    Loved it as a startup. HATE what it has turned out to be. A corporate grift.

    I can't say i'm surprised. As a start-up the vision was solid, which was why I joined them. Once they hired their VP of Ops, who I butt heads with at least 30 times a week, the VP took the company into a whole different direction. I warned the company that hiring that particular VP with a lack of experience and knowledge in/of trucking would harm the company in the long term. Looks like my vision was correct. I hope you packed up and found something better... I know most of the O/O that were there when I was have already left because they became way too corporate.

    I'm looking forward to seeing their safety scores post-blitz when they are posted in a few days. It's only a matter of time before their inexperience catches up to them...

    It's not a clean break for me ATM. I have people I like there. The problem; as you put it, is the corporate hacks they bring in from time to time... probably investor plants coming in as package deals. Who knows.

    In any case, this is a ####ty time to make lateral moves. My goal from the beginning was to get my own authority and as opposed to moving sideways, move up instead. Be my own CEO There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day for that tho.

    Gotta tell you; after the DriverBreach data breach debacle, getting my own authority got a violent thrust onto the front burner. For a San Francisco tech startup, you would think they would treat people's IDENTITY with a lot more discretion and respect.
