Last Sunday night, I spotted an obviously drunk driver on NB Hwy 2, swerving and going halfway onto the shoulder. I called it in at Hwy 13. I followed the car 40 miles all the way to Edmonton and he was never pulled over. As a matter of fact, I never saw a Mountie the entire way from the border to Edmonton. WTF?
Does RCMP work Sundays?

Of course they do. They also cover a pretty large area and may not be close by. Take a plate, call it in.
JC1971 Thanks this. -
I know they work Sundays. I didn't want to get close enough to get a plate. They tell us to call in drunk drivers but then they don't come out and get them.

I've driven from the BC interior to Northern Alberta and sometimes never see an RCMP vehicle. Other times I see a dozen (usually on long weekends). Western Canada is pretty rural for the most part and they have a large area to cover.

They're all over the flat out here in BC on the big road. They hang out at various places throughout BC, usually at the bottom of a huge grade. But they're also famous for parking a car empty and leaving it their for a day. That does slow down the 4 wheelers, but any trucker with half a brain runs with a VHF radio here in BC. Empty cars are broadcast far and wide, same as any other cop or DOT on the road. But, the rapacious government sends them out in force for Fridays and Sundays and any long weekend to make revenue off all the 4 wheelers driving like demons.
