Hey, don’t knock Kentuckians until you try one. I could suck 90% of the life out of one and let you have the rest if you’d like to try one.

safe haven only applies to hazmat.

    the exemption is narrowly defined.

well no, they don’t know but I can tell you something that you need to worry about, if you have been into an accident, even months later, an ambulance chasing lawyer will audit the logs and look for patterns in the company and jump on this. They will reinforce their case against YOU and the COMPANY, which will lead to you being caught up in the payout to their client.

Oh and the company isn’t going to help you out with legal fees.

Happened to me once. Got lost in downtown Gettysburg, PA. No where to turn around. Just kept going till I found a road that ended in 22, which took me to turnpike, then service plaza. I annotated my Elog accordingly. Company never noticed and I never once had my log book inspected in the 2 years I was OTR. Told them ELDs, they didn't want to mess with it.

    NavigatorWife and JSanborn103 Thank this.

Good, then maybe they’ll change the laws to shutting down in the middle of the road after it’s reopened.
