Now, if a cargo plane is towing a cargo glider, then it makes sense. You know, pulling doubles. If it just a empty plane towing a cargo glider, it's a waste. And i can't see the FAA approving passenger planes towing cargo gliders.

Actually the concept might be feasible.
During World War II gliders were actually used to move troops and some assets around.
