Doing a 34 in California

Salinas.

 

You have several places along the 5. I've always liked the J in Lodi. Theres another down by French camp, but I've never been to that one

 

that pilot is hard place to find parking

 

where you picking up. that one produce place in Salinas has truck parking and restrooms and hot food.

 

That’s a tough area. Almost better to get a hotel where you can park.

Here’s a screen shot from trucker path showing TS / parking / rest stops. As you can see it kinda empty.

Just remember driving over the Altamont pass can take forever with traffic.

There’s the Gilroy Garlic Truck stop. It’s kinda gnarly. As is the Salinas P/FJ.

Salinas is south of Sacramento

 

Take a 48 or 72 instead of a 34. Grab a rental car and stay a few days in Santa Cruz or Los Gatos California. Very beautiful areas.

 

Hope you're mostly self contained in that locale. Cause most of those places ain't the greatest.

 

You said sacremento. Then you said San Jose, thats south. Therefore Salinas is in play as a option.
