Now me NOT being a flatbed guy; did that happen due to load shift or did he try and turn to fast in the parking lot causing a load shift??

    Not Flatbed either.....
Took the Pics, seemed like a good place to post it.

Other guys mentioned he may have turned to quick to get into the one of the Fuel Pumps.

I had that happen to me with PVC Pipe, Had to be reloaded the first time the second time to far away to turn back, Just slowed down and took all night to go 5 hr run. Made it with out turning over or losing the load. Never did haul another load of it.

    What would have prevented that?

The truck should have been able to turn into the fuel pumps as fast as he wanted without the load shifting. More straps?

He should have placed chocks on the BOTTOM of the dunnage as well. With it on the top, all it does is keep the pipes together on the top, the dunnage still slides across the pipes on the bottom.

That makes sense. I guess he could have also used 2 straps per side pulling the load in opposite directions, but wedges may be easier if available.

Thats a standard of pipe load the way its loaded. It all comes down to driver error. You see how high that load reaches? Whatever high load any trucker has, the driver has to drive it with brains. If that driver wouldn't have had enough straps on then the pipe would've dumped. Now, eveybody repeat after me... Thank you fifth wheel... That guy or girl should buy that 5th wheel a beer.

Is this an example why our fifth wheels don't pivot side-to-side like a RV fifth'r?
