Hello, I am new here yes sorry to be posting a random first question!
I am picking up a Penske truck for my company out of state but I will have to get temporary plates and it's a non-CDL truck but my question is do I still need to get a DOT card even if it won't be registered to my company yet and I am transporting it across multiple states empty?
Sorry for be so vague but I am trying to determine if I need to do this or not, thanks for the help!

If it's a CMV (It is) that is over 10,000 lbs GVWR you need a med card, and you have to do logs.
dibstr Thanks this. -
I need more information.

Over 26001 lbs GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) you need CDL or, if it has air brakes, you need CDL. The largest U-Haul truck you can rent is UNDER 26001 without air brakes, so no CDL needed.

Thanks for all the replies I really appreciate it! If I am only a CMV driver do I need to take a DOT Drug Test during my physical?
