I found out how to beat this. I've had issues with blood pressure. Looking at youtube videos. Some mentioned about breathing exercises. Then ran across one that explained the breathing exercise.
No big deal... just breathe in deep. Then exhale. Even when all the way breathed in. Try a couple little more breaths. Really breathe in deep. Do this for five minutes. ... He went from 160 to 115 on the high reading.

I did it for 2 minutes. Went from 140 something to 133. Two more minutes... went to 119.

    This really works!
Ever have an issue with blood pressure at a DOT physical. Ask them to give you 5 minutes to do breathing exercise. You'll get it down.
    Try it now. It works!
They do say to do this daily to bring down blood pressure... period. ????
EDIT.... example says do it sitting in a chair. Relaxed position.

Drinking an 8 oz glass of beet juice works really well too! I can personally attest within about 30 mins my bp is usually down about 10 pts. It's also a surprisingly good pre-workout drink. Seems give a good energy boost at the gym. The stuff tastes horrible but apparently it's a "super food" w/ a lot of benefits, particularly the bp thing if you're on the borderline and want to avoid having to go on meds like I did. $7 for a 32 oz bottle at the grocery store is a way better deal than having to take those meds!

I had a supervisor tell me Viagra worked for getting it down. He said it's a lil awkward when they do the hernia check and you have a rager tho lol.

i always had, "white coat syndrome", and after about maybe 15 minutes of waiting in the waiting room, THEN i went to the desk and signed in.

many times, you either get called in right away, or have to wait your turn, and due to be called in right away, my BP would always be a bit on the high side.

the doctor or nurse, or P/A, would know this, and give a person "some time" to calm down...

I myself have whitecoat syndrome. At home I average 117/78 with a 67 bpm (average of hundreds of readings as recently as July-August). When I go to My doctor, it’s usually around 135/85 with 90bpm.

However, when I go for a DOT physical, it’s usually around 155/95 with 110bpm. As soon as I get home 15 minutes later it’ll be like 132/83 with 80bpm, then an hour later back to normal. It’s messed up. Anyways I bring in multiple doctors notes and they thankfully they keep giving me 2-year cards. Been doing that for over 9 years. Every year I see the doctor to get an updated note and I always bring in the 2 most recent notes from different doctors.

I've had them go so far as to have me lay down for 5 minutes or so. Then have a nice looking nurse come in and check it the old fashioned way. No machine.

They need to take things in context. If you're up, moving around. Your blood pressure is going to be higher. If you're exercising. It can go as high as 220. In that case. They gonna send you to the hospital? Emergency? ... nope
I'm just glad I found this breathing exercise. Going for a new job next week. Even though I still have 1 year on my medical card. They still want to do a physical with their doctors at their terminal. I have nothing to worry about.... now.

I can imagine me drinking ten gallons of beet juice the night before physical. Get no rest. Overtired. Turned red from all the beet juice. Doing breathing exercises. Then she looks at me and says: "What's wrong with you?!"

When you get tested. Dont let your arm hang at your side. Let the arm be out horizontal. The high end of BP will lose 20 off your highest number. Because the blood is no longer pooling in the arm.
