I have a pacemaker. Usually for a DOT physical I needed a letter from the cardiologist that went to the the DOT physician stating that I was in good enough health to drive and that I had kept up with my checkups. A new employer now wants more detailed information that is sent to Hire Right. Is this normal procedure now?

I wouldn't do it. Seems to me that putting personal medical info on hireright would violate HIPPA laws. Even if it didn't, if the DOT examiner, in conjunction with my personal MD, says I am good to go, then that's all I willing to give them.
Puppage and Rubber duck kw Thank this. -
That’s what I was thinking too. I appreciate your timely response, thank you.

Why would they need it sent to a third party employement reporting service?
I would just look for another job. -
I don't beleive medical information belongs on hireright.
They have way more info that's none of their business already. -
I agree with you all. I’m quite prepared to give the DOT physician any information that they require but to send it to hire right I don’t understand that. Thanks for responding, I’ll update you on what happens.
