Most loads have a lot of money taken off the top. The agents (brokers really) take a load from a shipper or a broker( that they refer to as a shipper) thru their logistics part of the agency then put the load out under the carrier part of the agency. Landstar tries very hard to broker the good paying loads. Before all this started there was real money to be made here. But the last 2 CEOs changed all that. I talk to people that say all most all their loads are thru Landstar. When asked why not lease they say they get more money being an outside carrier. NOW think just a little WHY would a carrier try so hard to pay you more money when they could load their load a permanent leased truck. YOU are getting ripped and you are helping others to be ripped. Don't worry about me though I made my money back when and socked it away so I can sit at home and wait for the loads that for one reason or another they can't broker and they have to pay full rate.
