Toxicology reports? Someone pulled his fifth wheel, unless he picked the trailer up a block away. Doesn't take a genius.

That's exactly what I was thinking too. I believe it's high time that fifth wheels have a lock on them that way they can't be pulled by just anybody.

I hope it's on camera, and the person is brought up on manslaughter charges.

People reading about it, in the news, people will be pulling pins again.
Used to do it years ago around here, I hand brake and tug before i move, and walking up I’ll look under trailer and see if arm is out.

I’ve made a habit every time i walk up to it to look for that arm.

Always tug test after every stop! Two people would be alive if driver had of.

My first thought as well. I admit, I dont check mine every time I leave a truck stop, if I have gone inside, but I do try to remember to look & tug before I leave. I dont do it most of the time, but I try to remember.

My 2nd thought was why? Why did someone possibly pull his pin?
    Cut someone off?
Took his 30 in the fuel island?
Just some thug... just because he could?

Like Ltl mentioned, I hope it was caught on camera.

set trailer brakes then pull forward. the tension should make it impossible to pull

It’s an absolute tragedy this happened. So preventable.

am I the ####### for wondering how distracted the 4 wheeler was? They were both going the same way so she ran into a stoped trailer with no brake lights. Still sucks for everyone involved.

probably was tailgating. most people have no clue what safe following distance is. hell I see some trucks riding 4wheeler's bumpers. always blows my mind. I wouldn't do that even if I were empty or in my passenger car.
