Can't drink on base or off base.
Can't enter Japanese restaurant between midnight and 5am.

Naturally they don’t want the sailors doing stupid s*** when they’re on shore leave.
Incidents in recent years (including a few sexual assaults) have left relations between our armed forces and the locals on shaky ground-especially when alcohol is involved.

Drunk sailor waking up in some lady's house? That kind of thing was par for the course overseas, though things are a bit more sensitive now than they used to be.

Yeah, that's very mild from the old days. Sometimes they'd tell the husband to go somewhere and invite a sailor in.

Many sailors kept a bottle on the ship; hidden away of course; enlisted and officers.

I was on a big deck amphib and we had an NCIS agent with us on deployment...a big part of his job was dealing with incidents during the port calls.
