p.s. The fella I run for now put cameras in his trucks because his insurance carrier (Great Western) all but mandated it (he only has maybe 25 trucks). But, we all put tape over the driver facing side. He doesn’t care. Again, they’re only there to begin with so he gets a lower rate.

Read where If you’re a experienced driver with Millis they give you the option of using the driver facing camera~my how times have changed when I drove for them you didn’t have that option lol

Because companies WILL find something on that camera to make it YOUR fault.... or at least partially your fault i.e.reportable accident following your career everywhere you go.

That is just the tip of the iceberg. I hear they already have facial recognition software to look at facial features to see if you are tired or drowsy. Have you ever seen a driver that looks totally refreshed??

In the United States we have this pesky little thing called the Constitution, it not only limits what the government can do, it limits what others in power, such as employers can do. The 4th amendment and I believe the 14 have been combined to give us a right to privacy. That truck is your home when you are on the road and your employer doesn't have a right to invade your home. It will take a number of years for this to work its way through the courts, but there is a pretty good possibility that eventually the Supreme Court is going to either eliminate, or severely restrict the use of driver facing cameras.

The question isn't "What have we got to hide?" The question is, "What have we got to protect?"

The question of “what have you got to hide” is the most slippery slope in the history of man.
