Driver has a load shift, seems to think the green book rules are just suggestions.

Are they saying there were doing more than what's in the green book? And it still shifted? And still thinks it was more than adequate?

    G13Tomcat Thanks this.

Yikes. He probably has never had an encounter with the DOT yet. They would take one look at his logs and ask him why he isn't stopping every 150 miles (nor before the first 50 after loading).

Load checks mean the difference between a dead driver and a not-dead driver (or worse).

If he had a load shift, then maybe he needs to look at more of the book than just how often to do a load check. Securement section should get a perusal as well. I admit I've had a couple minor load shifts in the past. I also admit I did something wrong or I wouldn't have.

I'm sorry, but which one are you, James or Daniel? You said the first post is you, but then why is your last name blacked out?

Im James, Daniel is the guy who had the shift, hee said the shift was caused when one of his dunnage broke collapsed/ broke when it rolled over, this allowed the load to shift rearward and drop an inch.

    Airborne and G13Tomcat Thank this.

Didn't they change the rules on load checks?

I had rotten dunnage break and a load shift 25 miles from my shipper...sometimes it happens.

Shipper ended up splitting the wrecker bill after proof their skids were rotted.
