MILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — A driver was able to safely move his tractor-trailer at a truck stop while the passenger seat was on fire before catching fire entirely Wednesday morning.

Milford fire officials said they began to receive calls about a tractor-trailer fire around 6 a.m. at Secondi Bros Truck stop.
According to fire officials, the tractor-trailer was at the diesel pumps while the driver was inside the business when he was told his truck was on fire. The driver managed to get into the truck while the passenger seat was engulfed and move the vehicle away from the pumps.

The truck, which was not carrying any supplies, was at a complete loss, according to fire officials.

    No injuries were reported.

The exact cause of the fire is under investigation.

That place is always packed with trucks. Between Secondi and the Pilot trucks park there every which way but loose. Can’t wait to see what the fire marshal says.!

Well, at least he had the good sense to pull away from the pumps. That kind of clear thinking is hard to come across these days.

Circling back to clear thinking, maybe he forgot to roll the passenger window down before he flicked the butt?

Or the window was down and the wind blew it back in when he flicked it.

That is true. Wonder why one would try to flick it out the passenger side from the driver side though. Glad he made it out okay and got the truck away from the pumps like you say nonetheless.
