As a former bus driver, the first thing I noticed is that the kids got off the bus and then went BEHIND the bus to cross as the bus pulled away...totally blind to oncoming traffic. 'Round these parts, the bus isn't supposed to let any kids off until the driver is sure traffic is stopping, and then any kids needing to cross the road do it IN FRONT OF the bus, while the bus holds traffic back. Also noticed there were no flashing lights or stop arm, making me wonder if the law there requires oncoming drivers to stop. Even here, though, when the door closes and the lights shut off, traffic is free to resume...which is why the busses do not pull away until everyone is safely across the street.
wore out Thanks this. -
Yep a comedy of errors there that almost cost lives -
if so, once anyone leaves, they are on thier own. the (if it was a typical city bus), the driver holds no responsibility for one's safety.
kids must be taught how to cross a street/road.
i saw that on this mornings news as well.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -

Dang good reaction by truck driver. It's a good thing the kid ran down the road in the direction the truck was traveling.
