My Peterbilt 379 has the standard setup of a manual crank for the driver window and an air-operated passenger window. I have seen some trucks that have air windows on both sides (usually at shows).

I'd like the same setup, but I have not been able to find any kits that would let me do this. I've thought about trying to find a wrecked truck and cannibalizing passenger door parts, but I'm not sure if they're reversible?

If anyone has done this modification, knows how to do it or where to find the necessary parts, I'd be grateful for any information you can offer.

I don't know about the changeover your talking about, but I think it would work just by looking at the air cylinder. A new air cylinder(regulator is what some call it) is $300 buck from peterbilt. Everyonce in a while you will see one on ebay, but they still sell for $200+++ used!!!:biggrin_2551: I know, my passenger side one is jacked, so I've been looking for awhile.

Ouch. Peterbilt sure knows how to overcharge for parts!

I had an airline come loose on my levelling valve a couple of days ago. Palm Peterbilt in Fort Pierce, FL wanted $236 for a new levelling valve!

I was able to JB-weld the airline back into place so that I could get back home, but now I'm hunting for a better price for that valve. I've seen them as low as $89, but can't seem to find a design that matches the one I have. Not sure if it matters, but definitely don't want to buy the wrong thing.

yeah peterbilt will rip you, they quoted me a new winsheild wiper witch for $295, :biggrin_25524: I told them to keep it. Took my old one apart and fixed it.

A couple weeks ago there was two air cylinders and both dash switches and all the air lines on one auction on ebay. everything was used of course. it went for $320 or something .

Those parts are expensive, because they are low volume sales. Nobody hardly needs them.

The stuff everyone needs is expensive too, though. $45 for a new A/C filter?

Don't remember what it cost me but.. you can get a retro fit kit right from peterbilt... I got one bout 4 or 5 years ago ... Easy install just drill some holes to mount regulator, run your air line , mount toggle, hook up supply air ... done .. hardest part was puliing door and dash panles... so not that bad.. Kit comes with everything needed air line and all .. Hope this helps
