<p>[QUOTE=&quot;ghostchild, post: 2409193, member: 24880&quot;]I got another flyer from Werner Enterprise...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I have nothing against Werner at all...I was with them during their hey day...when the owner and founder was actually still active...about 10 years ago...great company back then...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>But in this flyer...they state that <b>70%</b> &#039;Of Werner drivers get home nightly or weekly&#039;...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Hmm....</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Interesting....weekly...yes maybe...but nightly?</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Of that 70%, I wonder how many of those drivers are home nightly?</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I could see local day cab city drivers getting home nightly...very limited opportunities though...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Maybe Dollar general accounts??</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Never did that, so I&#039;m not sure how Dollar General accounts run...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>With Werner, unless your local city driver in a day cab, just don&#039;t see how you could get home nightly...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I know how the trucking industry works, and custimor needs always comes before driver convience or needs...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I worked a trucking job once where ye, I was in my home city daily or nightly...but couldn&#039;t stay...as next load delivered 7-8 hours away and had to be there by 8-9 am in the morning...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>To me nightly is getting off, home by no later than 7 pm...being able to relax and sleep <b>all night</b> in your bed or couch...and then get up between 4-7 am to go to work....</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Again...I have no issues with Werner...infact some of my fondest best times trucking was with that company...back when they were wild and free...they just gave you a fuel card and said &#039;go&#039;....and I went...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Back then you could take home time anywhere in the U.S.A...and they would send you there...back then they didn&#039;t sweat over out of route miles...as long as you delivered on time...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Back then they didn&#039;t tell you were to fuel or how much fuel to put in...none of this smart fuel stuff...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Back then, when home, you could use the truck as your personal vehicle to do whatever...and they never complained...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Werner was the company back then...they were so so laid back...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Not sure how they are now though...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>I earned some good money with them back in the day...and I was always in a good truck...they, Werner, treated you good back then...would get you a rental car to go pick up a truck...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>It was a different world back then...and I have nothing but gratitude towards Werner...for what they allowed me to do, back in the day...</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Again...not sure how they are now...[/QUOTE]</p><p><br /></p>
