Lately I've noticed some drivers entering/exiting from the passenger door. At first I just assumed the driver's door was broken but I've seen it 3 or 4 times now. Wonder what the reasoning is? Seems like a PITA when there's a door directly to your left already.

I have passenger side seat removed and when I am in the sleeper, eating or whatever and then go outside, I often use passenger door, just because it's way easier to get out, especially if you are a bigger guy and there is a stick shift in the middle

A guy a work with enters and exits through the passenger door all the time.

He has a bootmat there, gets in, removes boots, then hops into the driver seat.

I asked a driver why he used the passenger door, he also sat in the passenger seat when not driving.
He said one time he got a ticket from DOT in a rest area for being "on duty not driving" while sitting in the driver's seat.

I figured it was maybe a cultural thing since I've only ever seen foreign drivers do it.

That’s all I see doing it. Doesn’t make sense to me.

Maybe someone told them that they would make more money by keeping the left door closed

If you are near traffic getting out the passenger door keeps you away from traffic
