Lately I've noticed some drivers entering/exiting from the passenger door. At first I just assumed the driver's door was broken but I've seen it 3 or 4 times now. Wonder what the reasoning is? Seems like a PITA when there's a door directly to your left already.

I have passenger side seat removed and when I am in the sleeper, eating or whatever and then go outside, I often use passenger door, just because it's way easier to get out, especially if you are a bigger guy and there is a stick shift in the middle

I asked a driver why he used the passenger door, he also sat in the passenger seat when not driving.
He said one time he got a ticket from DOT in a rest area for being "on duty not driving" while sitting in the driver's seat. -
I figured it was maybe a cultural thing since I've only ever seen foreign drivers do it.
