    That much is certainly true.

What I question though is the statement that O/O not being in a consortium is in itself considered a fail requiring the SAP crap. This is the first I’ve of heard of that.

I cant argue the point either way with certainty, but my understanding has been that its a violation & OOS. Its an administrative rule. Its a requirement of the company to ensure that employees are in a consortium.
That's why I believe in this situation, he was an O/O (specifically a relatively new O/O). However any driver not in a consortium, can certainly be put out of service. No doubt about that. But its an administrative rule/responsibility.
In this case, the driver is the administrator.... the company representative.
I may not be explaining this where its easy to understand, but its the way I believe it works.
Its not "a driver failed a drug test" report. Its a company & driver violation. Company gets cited for no consortium membership & the driver is put OOS for not being in a consortium & not tested. (Obviously, he isn't tested if he is not in a consortium.)

    That's what my understanding is.

    Find another career.

Former owner ops arent going to like the noose modern companies have on them and the lack of freedom. Big companies dont want owner ops as company drivers anyways. The job market right now is brutal. Megas and almost all decent true trucking companies aint taking no sap drivers.

He is looking at 3 years of running for a 1099 chicagoland outfit or some fly by night construction company if he's lucky. Running with those crowds will get his mvr and psp nuked from orbit and he will be trapped running 5k mile weeks for .27cpm or breaking his back hand unloading 80lb sakrete bags by the pallet off a flatbed.

If you get popped into the SAP wonderland you may as well leave trucking all together.

If you've ever worked for a MEGA there going to random clearinghouse your DAC every 3 months.

KAG still hits mine, haven't worked for them for a year. I don't care, ping away, but it's funny to watch the bureaucracy spend our tax dollars.

They do ping my current MC number also.

Plus, O/OPS you better have a 2014 and up ELD complaint motor, no gliders, shorter than 250" WB, and tractor weight less than 19,700 lbs full of fuel with driver onboard. California runs will have to have CA compliant CARB certification every year. Fifth wheel requirements may be nescessary.

If you can't meet our requirements, Pablo or Suddan or Akbar will be happy to haul it for $.065 dollars per mile in his flip flops, throwing his poop next to you in a Flying J overnight so you can step in it at 4am on your pre-trip
