Been a time or ten I could have been arrested for that. A lot of our rides back in the day included coolers tied down to a pack horse and they were not full of juice boxes that's for sure.
Bud A., Swiss Mountain Dog, tramm01 and 1 other person Thank this. -
It's just a matter of time before you can be arrested just for riding a horse in California.
Bud A., D.Tibbitt, Swiss Mountain Dog and 1 other person Thank this. -
Ive done a bit of mountain horse in my time. We used quarter horses who were born and raised in the same hills.
Once or twice I allowed Cozo to just go with the pack and I'll just fall over when we all get there to wake up and make ready for the drive home.
HA... those were the days I am telling you. We got away with so much. Sometimes when I dare count the sins committed a bolt shaft should strike me dead or something. -
I’m sure someone was real impressed and happy with his performance. Just another reason to stay out of the “Golden State”. Course Boise isn’t much different these days. Fun suckers is what they are.
Bud A. Thanks this. -
I'm thinking about the guy a few years ago here who signed up to ride a bull at our little rodeo. Drunker than Cooter Brown. He not only made the 8 seconds, he placed 3rd and got some money too.
tramm01 Thanks this. -
The RWI was in Santa Cruz? Figures. We call it Berkeley South.
A town who's local college team is the Bananna Slugs is always good for a few laughs. -
We've gone full-circle; horses... the original self-navigating vehicle. That was the whole point, you could go to town and get drunk and still get home.
-
We have an old guy in our little town that does that. He lives in a line shack on one of the reservation ranches and does a bit day-work here and there when somebody needs him. Mostly he's just retired.
He doesn't have a phone. He doesn't wear a watch.
He doesn't drive. I don't remember ever seeing him drive anything and I've known him for over fifty years.
He comes the fifteen miles to town once a month with a riding horse and a pack horse to pick up his government money and his groceries.
He'll have a few drinks in the local pub and he always has a flask in his pocket for the ride home.
I don't see where he bothers anybody and so far the law has left him alone. -
could the ants have been arrested for being drunk..???
