DUI's over 3 yrs old but less than 5yrs...

    Hello,

    I am new to trucking. I have found a job with a local company.
    Coca Cola. I have 4 months experience now. Its not really driving. But they would hire me with less than 5 yrs between dui's. I would like to go long haul soon. Does any body know any companies who hire with less than 5 yrs between dui's. Could I team with someone o/o? Any info will help. Thank you.

    Do you still drink, I think would be the big question. If you do, Please DO NOT drive long haul, don't drive anything.

    I would advise you to stay doing what you are doing, not just 5 years from your last dui, but five years from your last drink. 5 yrs sobriety.

    I say this not to be mean, but if you are on your second DUI, I don't want you on the road with me till you have given up the booze completely. This job is hard enough, stressful enough, lonely enough, that if you have the slightest weekness, you will be drinking again. At home that is not a problem, At the wheel of an 80'000 lb truck moving down the interstate, that will get you and many others killed.

    Yes i totally agree with you about the not drinking. I have not had a drink or drug in 3 years. I definately agree that no one should not operate heavy machinery under the influence of anything. I have solved my problem and it will never rule my life again. I was just wondering what my options were at this point in my carrer. I allready have ajob driving so I do know that companies will hire. Just thought you guys could give mesome other sources.
