my company now, we take the truck and trailer home. I'm lucky, I can park on the street by my home. After I empty out, I don't get paid to drive home but get paid when I head out to pick up my next load. (from home to the shipper). And I'm sure most companies don't mind if you sneak by home with a load, as long as it ain't too far off route and you deliver on time.

Most companies ask that the same person that paid for your way home at your last job...do the same with this job.
Some will let you take the truck home. -

In over 30 years, I've only had 1 job where someone come pick me up. And that was because my workplace was located in his pick up. -
There are alot of company's that require you to park at the terminal if you live within 50 miles or so. Then you would drive your personal vehicle home or have the wife pick you up.
