I would not be taking over the truck until March. I do not have the money to sit on it over the winter months.

Here in PA there is brokers for coal, maybe you could do some research and make some calls? Coal hauling is going to be harder on your truck that construction for the most part though. Good luck.

Is there a Owner/Operators Dump Truck Association in your state?

I would suggest contacting a local chapter representative and ask them about O/O membership, broker-members, affiliate-members.

A good example is the CDTOA...google them and visit their website.....

Letica transport seems to have alot truck leased to them. They have a yard in Elizabeth, near Ikea. I also see alot of trucks with sticks for A&B recycling, and Tilcon NY. Also check with some of the local transfer stations. Good luck.

I don't think McClymond's will hire OO's, they have alot of their own trucks though.

How are they to work for, as a company driver ? Do they keep their drivers busy ? Do they pay well ?

I see alot of their trucks everyday, they are a big company. I've heard from my freinds and family that they are'nt great. two of my freinds worked for them for less than a week, both have over 15 years tri-axle exp. I know they took me in for an instant interview (they need drivers bad) but they require 2 years commercial experience. That's just what I've heard, the guy down the road from me has driven for them for years, It's worth a shot if you have 2 years exp. and want to go local, id say.

I like how you broke the figures down. But I am a little confused. Is your monthly cost more that what you would be making?
