I am considering a move to the Cookeville, TN area and would like some more info on the local end dump/dump truck scene in the area. Is there plenty of work? Is it hourly or by the ton? If hourly, whats the going rate? Are dump trucks more desirable or truck & end dump? What kind of equipment is the most common and will get me the most work? If I decide to sell my truck and go company driver, what are some good companies? Just want to get as much info before I pull the trigger on the move.

    Thank you for your help

Cookeville is nice, but in my opinion, Crossville is better and still on I-40 about 30 miles or so from Cookeville.
Sorry, I can't help with jobs for dump drivers there.

    korky Thanks this.

@tndriver is from the area but he’s been MIA in awhile. Maybe he can chime in. @Trashtrucker1707 runs down that way a bit also and is knowledgeable of the industry. Let’s see what he says.

Honestly I couldn’t be much help for the area, if you want regional work CDJ would be a good look, but you’re going to be out all week. @motocross25 if you asked me about local work to central Florida then I’d be a wealth of knowledge.

I wish I would've known about your Central Florida expertise earlier. I actually just landed a great job, but had been looking around here for a long time.

Where’d you end up at @Haystak88 if you don’t mind my asking?

RB Stewart, who is the fuel hauler for Bucees. Bucees is opening a store in Daytona and one in St. Augustine, which are two of the most recent openings outside of Texas. Brand new equipment, extremely good pay for Florida and home daily.

Good to hear @Haystak88 its always comforting finding good paying work in Florida, that’s still pretty rare around here.

It is extremely rare. For the last ten years or so I bounced around the oilfield, when it was hot. This new company is from Texas and they operate similar to an oilfield company, which I like. I've known for three years they were coming to Florida and I've patiently waited. Thankfully, I was hired.
