Recently, I saw an article of a prototype of an e-trailer, and I had a thought. This route would be a lot easier than the total revamp configuration of the entire truck and less costly. So, I want to ask these questions. What would these trailers achieve, and would it be economically feasible and how would it affect trucks if successful?

Anti lock brakes are not a new thing on big rigs. They came out in about 1974. Believe they were called 721 brakes and a loaded truck was supposed to be able to stop in 721 feet from 55 MPH. Air disc brakes came out about the same time along with Firestone 721 tires. The same term was used for both of the 721 products. 7 to 1 they will fail. They went away as well as the early air disc brakes.
How many trailers are out there per power unit? You can not put that kind of money in trailers and have them sitting.
How dependable will they be? When they break what will it cost and how long will they be out of service. What does it take - cost for them to be operable with a tractor? Lots of battery and charging questions.
The pay load would be reduced.
Wright a college thesis on this after your do your own research.
Unless you have government funding better let the big boys play with those toys.

121 system, I had the pleasure (sarcasm) of running a truck with that system. If it was raining and you caught a light it was a given you would be stopped halfway in the intersection.
BoxCarKidd Thanks this.
