Half way on a trip is morning I stopped at a longer red light so I popped the truck in neutral. Went to take off and couldn’t get the truck in gear. Had to kill the engine to get it in gear. Got out of the middle of town and stopped to mess with it. Adjusted the clutch both ways and it still wouldn’t fully release to so you could get in gear. Really “grabby”

Gave up and started the truck in gear and float shifted (I normally do anyway) destination to get unloaded. By the time I got here the clutch was working normally again. … what’s hanging up? I couldn’t see any broken springs while I was messing with it. Truck only sat since Friday so nothing is rusted up.

Edit: it’s an Eaton easy pedal in an 18 speed Eaton/fuller. 2006 kw t800

I suspect the damper springs and hubs on the friction discs are failing and small bits of
metal are coming out and getting in the friction material causing the clutch to drag.

if your clutch has the 4 lugs on the intermediate plate look to see if they are there and look for extra parts in the bottom of the housing.

    Rideandrepair and Oxbow Thank this.

Check the linkages and where it hooks to the cross shaft.

Ran into a high hood T800 years ago where the pinch bolt holding the lever to the cross shaft came loose and started slipping now and then. The driver adjusted the linkage every trip until it stripped out completely. Somehow he missed seeing the lever was slipping. By that point he'd already cooked the clutch.

    Rideandrepair and Oxbow Thank this.
