    Hey everybody,
Got an Eaton FRO 10 speed that lost fourth and ninth, so it’s rebuild at this point. But also have on the shelf an eaton ultrashift FO-16E313A-MHP that was rebuilt just as a spare. Would it be possible to swap out the xy shifter for the shift tower, swap the bell housings to accommodate the slave cylinder and clutch and run it as a manual? Pretty sure there’s other stuff im forgetting

    W923 Thanks this.

I wish it was that easy, but its not. The main transmission case is different between the ultrashift and manual transmissions, and a case is not cheap, your better off just buying a whole manual transmission if that's what you want.
For the autoshift/ultrashift cases they skip the machining processes that are needed to finish out a case for the manuals shift.

If you’re handy enough to be thinking about swapping the top of the tranny you can probably handle replacing the gear or sliding clutch that’s bad….it’s a decent amount of work but possibly only a couple hundred bucks in parts… or maybe the whole inside is trashed from the shrapnel

Yeah I probably could swap the synchro but never done one before, no shrapnel just wear. Might watch a video on one
