Does anyone know if there are any spring breakup road bans on WI-53 and MN-2 and the weight limits? Also, would it be better to go through Minneapolis and St Cloud instead? Never been up there

Spring thaw laws went into effect on March 16, with some roads limited to weight. I didn't look them up, but heres the link
Wisconsin Department of Transportation Seasonal posted roads (state numbered highways only)88 Alpha, CrappieJunkie, IH Truck Guy and 1 other person Thank this. -
US53 to Duluth is good running not sure about US 2 but both are US Hyw so shouldn't be any weight problems going that way.

Your can go 53 to 2 the only problem is if you hit the superior scale they will try to find something wrong and the you have the new scale on 2 thats just as bad.

US-53 is divided four lane all the way to Superior, both scales we're closed, and it was sunny in the low 50's. Couldn't ask for a better day for northern Wisconsin and Minnesota in early spring. Lake Superior is still frozen over as far as the eye can see, though.

I really enjoy running through there and it’s a better route than going through Minneapolis.
bowhunter67 Thanks this.
