You know guys I have something harsh to say so if you are offended by it too bad.

If you guys try to beat the clock by being an idiot and speeding, then you are giving in.

Let the clock run out, don't budge on the issues with the eld and your drive time and force the company/broker/shipper to adjust the time for a safe trip, there is no freight that has to be there yesterday.

I will repeat this --->>you speed around like a fool, they won.

Those who think eld will solve the safety issue will think that they were right in forcing it onto the industry. Those safety idiots will think they were right when they show the uptick in accidents trying to get people to conform and demand more draconian regulations. And those in congress will applaud those at the fmcsa for getting it right this time.

So learn how to say no, it won't work and stand firm because the more push back, the faster we will get this crap fixed so it works for all of us.

They went out the door when government decided to tell us how many hours we could drive in a day and a week that's what happened

Really they had HOS in the 30s? But yes I would much rather they just let us decide when we're tired and need to sleep and would base your safety ratings off of actual accidents and not some piece of paper not filled out right

Not exactly something new. The hos regs have been in effect since 1938. Slight changes here and there. but still the 70 hr thing.

Obviously you are very new to the industry if you think hos is a relatively new thing.

There was a revision in 1962 and those rules were ok. Drive 10 hr in a 15 hr on duty period. But you could stop the 15 hr clock by being off duty on in the sleeper. Worked good til 2004 when they screwed it up.
