ELDs are going to get people hurt/killed

All of these guys braying like jackdonkeys about "getting paid" better dont understand it will raise the prices of everything for everybody, including themselves. Its a shell game, stupid

 

Me too! I run a dedicated reefer run: 4500 miles round trip! I can do it in 10 days, but I take time off on both ends and take 14... but, with my pay increase I am on my way to be making more than I have in the 15 years of being out here and struggling to run over 3000miles a week to make it worth it! It came just as I’m starting to kinda feel the winddown at almost 60, too..I’m just starting to feel my age and need to take it slower and easier to enjoy my time left out here!

I don't understand why you were so nice to him...he could have thought that you were understanding and condoned this behavior. A little controlled outburst of anger would have been more educational.

I know that Flying J....there is always plenty of parking in the back during a day time. Unacceptable.

 

Oh well; life is a shell game: and I’m not stupid: I just accept reality and pay needs to go up for us! I don’t care if I pay $1 more when I go to the store; or .50 more for a pizza.. duh.. I can afford it if I’m getting paid more; but this way you can choose not to eat that pizza for .50 more or grow your own food if you don’t want to pay the extra dollar at the grocery store.. before only the big cats and top earners were receiving the extra pay; not us who have been working our butts off to generate it!

This is the way I see it. If you had bad habits on paper logs, then they translate to ELogs. I have been on paper logs more years than I've been on ELogs. I'm not doing anything different. The previous post said it best. It's all about trip planning. I have a list of truck stops that I don't stop at when I need fuel, because they are always busy. Then when I do get fuel, I try to do everything at that one stop (eat, fuel, cigarettes, cash advance, shower etc). I try to manipulate my runs to where I dont drive through major cities during peak hrs.
