I get why spread axles are popular, but everyone knows they tear up tires and hard on tight turns. So everyone says put in a dump on the rear axle, but what's the best way to do this and control it from the cab? I'd read an older thread if I could find it.

I got a forward axle truck, thinking it would be nice to dump the forward axle once in a while too. Easier to catch it when it's long. is that a thing, separate dump valves on each axle?

    cke and D.Tibbitt Thank this.

I think @Oldman83 mentioned having a dump valve in the cab . Thought I remember @JonJon78 having one too.

We have a couple trailers with dump/lift on front axle but only control from outside the truck

Toggle switch in the cab wired to the electric dump valve on the trailer axle.

I've never heard of them on both axles, not to say it doesn't exist though...

First axle on mine is lift and rear is dump...

What type of trailer do you have?

I don't have the part #'s with me, but could get them when I get home if you need them.

I added another pigtail and a receptacle to my trailer, and used 2 different 12v valves to plumb it.

To be honest, I just removed mine from my trailer. It sounded great, but I realized that 95% of the time, I didn't have to jack my tires around like I had been doing.

For the most part I could swing wider, set up different, etc. But I didn't have to jack my trailer around just because.

I may look ridiculous with my wide swings, but my money buys my tires.

The best is to have a blast/dump system, but it ia expensive.

    cke Thanks this.

What do you mean by blast/dump?

Like a quick release dump, or overinflate?

    Never heard it before

    cke and CAXPT Thank this.

My ‘16 Great Dane step came with one already set up so I can’t help on parts. The great Dane website has a whole list of parts on there so finding a dump valve won’t be difficult. Plumbing it in however I don’t know how it’s done.
on mine there’s an extra pigtail and the center pin for the pigtail if you put a 12 V positive to it dumps the air on the front axle.

    cke and CAXPT Thank this.
