If a company owns the truck, provides fuel, pays hourky and tells me where im working why would they want me to register my own business? Wouldnt I be an employeee and not contractor?

If the yare asking you to be a contractor run away as fast as you can. They are sleazes and it is illegal!!! You lose all your rights and have to pay both parts of CPP and UI. Name the company so others can avoid hem!

Yes run, they don't want to pay your taxes and will screw you in the end. Company driver or nothing.

I wish the Feds would charge some of these outfits. Even H and R tries that. Or is it TransX?

Not illegal "IF" you pay your own taxes, GST, file corporate income tax, WCB etc etc
If they want you to run this way then I recommend finding out what they pay employee drivers (if they have any) and crunch some numbers then add whatever you need to make it viable....
I have done both so shoot me a message if you have any questions.

The CRA (above post link) will determine if you're truly a contractor or company employee.
And there are benefits to both... do your research as opposed to taking someone's word for it (who may have been burned by a previous employer).
Good luck out there
