It’s done for ownership tax advantages. It’s just a feel good scam. The employees own nothing. And, PTL is one of the lowest paying outfits, offering some of the worst equipment on the road. Anyone who thinks employees would want to work for cheap, driving junk is delusional.

 

And their hiring/firing procedures are like any other companies. Trust me, it’s just a gimmick.

It allows the owner of the company to move some regulations on the business from corporate law to investment and retirement law then instead of providing a decent retirement plan they can keep your retirement money invested in the company you work for. Long term it can work out if you stay employed there and the company does really well but if not the employee gets the shaft.
