Just got word today from a driver that told me customs and border protection was checking the English skills of drivers as soon as you cross? This happened two days ago? Crossing from both sides. You guys seen anything? I know they were doing it at the scales, but not at the borders...

Good. Get them off the roads if they refuse to learn English.

I agree. Just surprised they are also auditing non-american carriers, crossing the border. Case in point, what are the french going to do? lol

We need to do it here. Now. I had a new driver for lcv training. Didn’t understand me, so I failed him. Couldn’t read the questions on the test, or understand what I was saying to him. Failed. Got a call from a relative, saying I should have let him have a relative to translate. Said nope. Boss says can you translate it? Said nope. Find another trainer. Wait, I’m the only one. Lol.

I used to drive truck a MOSTLY in Quebec, and my French language skills are debatable at best. Still, I DID learn enough to know that when you see a signs which reads "Interdit Camions" that I don't drive into there......
I picked up a few others every Anglophone should know before going to Quebec:
    Allumez vos phares
    Risque de brouilliard
    Degel
    Sortie
Materiels dangerouses interdit dans le tunnel.
    Vide / Charger
