My Qualcomm EOBR actually does not seperate periods of 5 minutes.
So , let's say you drive around the parking lot for less than 5 minutes , it won't kick into line 3.
Not all EOBR are configured the same way. When my company started them, I could drive 2-3 miles before it kicked me into line 3. I used this to actually gain driving time at each load check ( every 100mi ) and bust my record of driving 687mi in 11hrs , I pulled in the truck stop with less than 1 min left to drive.

Yes , that was me the one parked in 2.5 parking spaces. :biggrin_25520:

    This is bull.

    Nothing Rocks mentioned is illegal.

Its the rounding to the closest 15 minutes that changes things. Paper logs require you to round up or down. E logs are to the minute. Its like comparing apples to oranges. I have been doing both paper and e log until my company gets everyone trained. If I fill out my paper logs based on the time stamp on the e log it comes out different from the e log. Both are legal logs done as you do it.

Sounds like his elogs are set up wrong. If mine kicks me to the drive line, I can just call the office and they'll change it for me. Mine also has a delay and asks me if I want to switch. If I ignore it, it switches automatically, if I hit "skip" it keeps me on whatever line I'm on.

My EOBR does not kick on to line 3 until 1 mile or above 25 mph. That being said, it also has OFF DUTY DRIVING option. If I am going to be moving around a large DC or similar and the risk of it going onto line 3, I just select OFF DUTY DRIVING and drive around. I guess some companies limit the use of this, but usually not if a person keeps it down to a reasonable level. In something like a WM DC, I go to off duty at the guard shack and stay off duty till unloaded. Then go on duty when I am sending in empty information.

Its a carrier option right now. Our company guys are allowed to pull on "line 5" when empty to the nearest safe haven, or bobtail.

We pretty much have the same parameters before going to line 3 from off duty as Cowpie.

When I was on E-logs, I didn't have Off Duty Driving either, which was really a pain.

Did you shut your truck off or leave it idling when it changed it all to line 3?

The system we ran would do that if you didn't shut the truck off
