Hello guys. Just found this site and I am a fellow EPES driver. Great reading on here.....but because of the late 'bickering' I figured I'd sign up and post a few things to help 'settle in' the ease of the truth! And what I will say is just that, THE TRUTH! I have been at EPES for close to 3 years. Longer than Icyhot, but not as long as sdaniel(who is a well known, great guy and driver), or flyingmusician(who is also a great guy and driver), but I chose to leave the company. YES, I only left for 2 weeks, but came back. Don't know how long I will be with the company....nothing has changed at all. Yes, there was the safety bonus change, the 3 cent raise change....see Icy, I was one of those '30 or something' drivers that left about 2 weeks ago. 1600-1800 miles with being out for 7-8 days is just ridiculious! There is NO POSSIBLE WAY you have done 200K miles in the time you have been with EPES! My first year, I did, which was only 9 months outta 12, 28K(take home, NOT PER DIEM!)......only got around 70k miles. Second year, first full year, I made(WITH per diem) right over 34K.....average miles was 108K, this was before the rules change, only went home for a 34 hour restart. ok I might have snuck in a 38....oh well. EPES is a tremendous company to start with. I had no other option but to go back, because of 'Obamacare' and I need that $500....YES $500 dollar paycheck to help support my wife and little son. I talked to Tina, had a heart-to-heart talk to her and she fully understands my situation. BUT, my first week back and I have NOT seen a change at all. Another 1800 mile week. With the closing weeks, of the year coming up, I'll have made almost 30K THIS YEAR! And when I left, 2 weeks ago, I was only sitting at around 65K miles for the year! My trainer here said, all drivers are full of crap....and I clearly know you are totally full of it! Flyings/sdaniels/and all the earlier posters 'stories' of EPES are true to form. Your's, however, isn't. And I know, I still am here...I need to support my family, and it IS REALLY ROUGH!!! Especially when I haven't complained, turned down any loads, did everything they asked me. I live 10 miles from the yard in greensboro and they just treat me like I'm a nobody. The whole attitude has changed COMPLETELY from when I started. This use to be a really awesome outfit to work for.....but I'm praising God that my wife finally got a full time gig to help out with the bills and I'm just waiting until January and jumping ship from trucking completely! Got my State Forklift License/CDL I can easily make $15 an hour(with overtime/etc) at a warehouse and make more than I've made here. I was making $16 an hour before the Economy went to crap and still cleared 36K. No Icy, you can't be an honest poster here...EPES has become a GREAT TRAINING COMPANY! That is all. I was making 37 cpm....2 weeks ago they raised me to 41 cpm to try and keep me.....I came back and TIna raised me to 42 cpm....but, that may sound great an all...I'm still at 1800 miles a week.....not too much of a difference. As I have said, I'm new here and NOT going against the rules of this forum, I just think it's fair to post the truth. EPES is a great, tremendous, trainer company....get your experience and move on!

Also, yes it IS true that you have actually done 200K.....but that's not what you were paid for! I did a run from g'boro yard to south windsor, Macy's run this past monday.....they paid me 620 miles...followed the route suggestion and guess what....it was 700! Found a quicker way and did it in 680. Still, and hours worth of work, on my time. The run I'm on now, mt miles was 96...I did 117. LM was 896 and it's actually 920. So, in all fairness, I actually have more miles than you have here....but that's actual miles and not paid miles.
