He's still got to pass the pre trip inspection and road test though. I know I get more nervous during tests (I was like that in school too, not just trucking). Although Kao mentioned on here that his tester was a nice guy and that it wasn't super strict or anything. Not like the state tests are.

    Depends on terminal.

My road test the dude said he did the pre trip already and he hooked them while I sat in truck. We went down street and back and he broke them while I put the lead up.

If you can drive a truck road tests are not a big deal.

Thanks for the response59EX, I was meaning, say there is a line haul run on a Saturday and I want to do it, does Estes allow a wife or so to go with you on an out and back run?

I know the Pre-trip like the back of my head lol. The driving part I’m not worried about as I know I can drive. I’ll tell you what though if they put me in a Manual Imma grind some hella gears! I have not driven a manual truck for a year+. Not sure if that would disqualify me.

Edit: Guys I’m not sure who’s applying if this helps. I don’t actually have my Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles on my license showing I have them. It’s because the DMV made me wait three months after passing all my tests to put them on because Hazmat background took about three weeks. Literally all I have to do is go to the DMV and pay and it will all be put on my license since I passed all three tests same day three months ago. The terminal manager said he’ll work with me and pushed my interview out to next week to be closer to the DMV date. So with DMV wait of three months if you have passed all three tests you might not be disqualified depending how close your DMV date is.

It might make more sense to get all that done before you apply. That way you’re not wasting anyone’s time. Kinda like applying for the brain surgeon position while still employed at the Jiffy Lube.
