If i avoided every #### thing they said was unhealthy id be living in an antiseptic bubble eating nutrient cubes. Besides between plastics, poisions, vaxxes that are toxic, chemical laced food, working in the oilfield and such. Ill be dead long before the occasional cigar or beer gets me.
Flat Earth Trucker, hope not dumb twucker, 201 and 5 others Thank this. -
Makes sense, 36 is right about when I started to feel like crap all the time. Glad we got that (mostly) sorted out, though!
Flat Earth Trucker, hope not dumb twucker and Chinatown Thank this. -
Oh sure, now you tell me. Bulhunky. In all my years( 70 and counting, hopefully), I've seen plenty of people die for no apparent reason. Health nuts, chain smoker, binge drinkers, drug users, NATURAL CAUSES ( remember that one?) all go, nobody gets out alive. I told the doctor on my last visit, he wanted all kinds of tests, I said, look, you don't buy new tires for a junker. He didn't like that analogy, and said, he wants to focus on the quality of REMAINING years, not total length. I said, I'll get back to you. Like he's never heard that before. My late mom, said, life is like walking behind a shooting gallery, and trying not to be being hit. She was a wise woman,,,that skips a generation, apparently

So what? 120 with a life devoid of any of the fun things like sharing a cigar with a buddy watching the rain come in. Or beers at a bbq or going rock climbing like i always wanted or learning to fly would be 120 wasted years imo. Id rather die at 50 and have a life i can look back on fondly then die at 120 having lived in a #### bubble.
And besides with how increaseingly bad this world is. Id rather be dead and gone anyway then linger with folks who hate me for the crime of being born.Flat Earth Trucker, 201 and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
All I know is when I was younger, the older people would tell me how fast life goes by and you better enjoy it. Enjoy your youth they would always say. And I used to think getting old seems so far away. Now that it’s sneaking up on me, I realize, how quickly it arrived. And the older I get the faster life goes by. It’s your responsibility to set up your life to make time to “smell the roses” as they say. Doing OTR work creates a very challenging environment to be able to achieve that I think. UNLESS you got some real gypsy blood in you.

. Give me sock hops, soda shops, some sort of sport and auto shop.
IN THE MEANTIME, What I meant in the previous post, there doesn't seem to be any ironclad proof that ANYTHING does ANYTHING. Times up, times up, and all the goobledy gook and half tested potions aren't going to add a day. Like grandpa, said, All I read about this and that, I'm going to finally do something, and stop reading. Many older folks doing activities claim is, I'd rather die with my boots on, meaning, if I die doing what I love,,,well, there's worse fates.
I agree, this world is but a mere shred of what we held dear, and won't miss the future. And our kids won't understand because they didn't see the change like we did. Rough times a comin' folks, I've lived long enough to know trouble when I see it.Last edited: May 16, 2025
