Not that I necessarily care one way or the other, but what’s the appeal of this? Just wanting to be different?

It's either an obsession or a desire to be a decorator.

Will say reading over head signs was easier , once headlights were past them.

State law overrides that so it depends on registration. PA for example where I was an inspection mechanic...if a light is on the truck it had to work. Even add ons that the owner put on. It is a ball busting state and I imagine there are a few more like it. Now that I'm back in Florida you don't even need lights lol. In PA there is nothing stopping you from removing and lights that don't work that aren't necessary to pass inspection. Fog lamps were a big one with that, guys wouldn't want to buy new housing/lenses if they were broke so they would just remove them.

Please show the regulation. I've asked before and no one could ever find it.
I suspect you are just repeating "known" wisdom without any actual proof.

Your good on alot of posts with showing regulations. Are you able to find one on excessive lighting? I've got 13 roof lights and haven't found the regulation against it...

Bean Jr. and FlaSwampRat Thank this.

@ZVar I'll keep digging because reading #### written by lawyers is bad lol. Here is the one the PA state police (the ones who test and issue state inspection licenses) use to bang you if they don't like any of the lights you added and this may kinda answer your question @JonJon78 Screenshot_20190714-152013.png
    Section h...sorry

That being said PA doesn't really push it's laws on out of state registered vehicles unlike Maryland that can and will tow you with out of state registration for not meeting their vehicle code....found that one out the hard way.

    Bean Jr. Thanks this.

Another picky thing with PA is the fog lamps can not be operational with the high beams on. Granted with aftermarket ones on a switch they can but you can get nailed for it. I inspected a car (Acura) for a guy that had moved from Canada and apparently in Canada the fog lamps work with the high beams. Had to tear out the center console and replace a relay pack to make them function only with the low beams.
