I have 6 years of accident free driving experience, 4 as an owner-operator, but it has been 18 years since I last drove OTR. Now I’m considering driving again, but since I do not have 2 years recent experience I’m not hirable.
I have an opportunity for a lucrative frac sand hauling gig, but the insurance people say no. Are there any work-arounds?

Abilene Motor Express will probably hire you. They've hired drivers with long gaps in driving; even 15 or 20 years gap.

I don't know of any workarounds.
I was off the truck for ten years.
32 applications later I got hired.
Company is not optimal, but not too bad.
Good luck. -
Get your own authority.

If you can't be insured. There's no workaround.
YOu can't drive a car without insurance. It's the same with semi's. -
Have you tried HD construction companies or some of the more familiar oil companies. Halliburton or Schlumberger

Don’t be fooled.. companies are practically begging for drivers.. apply wherever you want unless someone comes in at the same time with better experience I’m sure you’ll get the job.
