    I guess sleep-deprived four-wheelers aren't a danger on the roads?

Sleep screening has nothing to do with age . There are plenty of young drivers out there with high BMI . High BMI and possibility of sleep apnea are already conditions a physician must evaluate during a DOT physical .

Doctors are very liability conscious . This recommendation for testing is just another scam to profit testing centers . Have they come up with any data on accidents resulting from sleep apnea ?

Show me 1 accident involving a big truck that can be DIRECTLY attributted to sleep apnea and I will get tested!
Or if someone else wants to pay for the sleep study ($4000-$7000), I'll get tested.
This is just another tactic to seperate drivers from their money! And they are getting good at it!

Although I've probably had sleep apnea most of my adult life (through thick and thin, body-wise), I was only formally diagnosed about five years ago. I had no traffic accidents or violations during those years... however, being a four-wheeler, aside from the periodic road trip I didn't drive near the miles a trucker does.

I'm not sure that driver fatigue is so much a result of sleep apnea as it is from the lack of routine sleep. That would affect me more than the apnea did.

Sleeping disorders have nothing to do with the quality of any given fart!

I fart just as provocatively when I'm asleep as when I am awake....just ask my wife:biggrin_25522:

But I still play second fiddle to our dog...especially after he gets ahold of a bowl of chili!:fart:

Sounds like another tactic by a lazy politician to get some notoriety. Never happen. It costs too much.
