When you went to work there did you sign a lot of papers? Did any of them specify that you'd be fined for failing an inspection?

Never sign anything that you do not understand or do not agree with.

There are quite a few companies that do that. It's usually like $50. Some do it for failed inspections and other do it if you get put out of service. Nonetheless, either way, it has taught me to regularly check out my truck and trailer with a fine toothed comb

My company will take the safety part of your bonus, it can be a nice hit if you have a good month.

I don't know whether it's illegal or not but it's sure not very ethical. I can understand why some companies do it but at the same time they're asking the driver to stand responsible for things that may not be his fault.
If you signed papers agreeing to payment I don't think you can do anything now but pay. If somebody can prove me wrong, and I wish they could, maybe they'll add something here.

I refuse to sign it .. they allowed to work without agreeing to pay for any liability. Those guya need driver more than driver needed them
